Keith Jordan

 Founder/Executive Director

dfhbKeith, his wife Robyn and daughter Jacie live in Ozark, AL and have been there practically all of their lives. Keith worked for 10 years with the Ozark Police Department spending the majority of his career with the Violent Crime / Drug Task Force.

He recently resigned from the police department to take a job as Pretrial Diversion Coordinator with the 33rd Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office. Keith is a deacon and active member of Chalkhead Baptist Church in Ozark where he is the Co-leader of Children’s Church Ministries and also teaches a youth Sunday school class. Keith has dedicated his entire adult life to serving others and making his community a better place to live.

Prior to the new addition of Jacie to their family, Keith and Robyn were at home sleeping when a tornado struck without warning. Keith received a spinal cord injury as a result of being tossed around during the storm. Keith immediately became focused on getting his life back to some form of normalcy despite being paralyzed from the T-4 vertebrae (chest level) down.

Keith was transferred to Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA where he began to learn to live his life from a wheelchair. He was focused on finding ways to continue his passion of hunting, fishing and the gasoutdoors. This sparked a new friendship with Shepherd Center’s Outdoor Specialist Greg Horneber. Keith and Greg remain friends and challenge each other to think outside the box to come up with new ways for persons with special needs to enjoy the outdoors.

These ideas sparked Keith to come up with the concept for Challenged Sportsmen’s Outfitters of Alabama (CSO). After Keith became involved with other organizations, it led him to believe there was a need for a place where persons, no matter their ability, could come and receive the one-on-one attention they may need to have an enjoyable experience in the outdoors. After a great deal of research Keith came up with the idea for CSO. Keith’s dream is for CSO to become known nationwide as a place where persons can come, feel comfortable and have their dreams of an outdoor getaway come true.
